September 28 - Jemez LoUpES
Results are now posted. Thanks to the Bikeworks crew for reminding me today that I was slacking. Thanks to everyone that came out and rode with us. That was a blast! The contest to be the Intergalactic Grand Champion of the World is heating up. Around the campfire on Saturday night there were some bold claims thrown down the gauntlet. It remains to be seen if the claims will become reality. You bet you bottom dollar that if they become true, you'll see it here first. See you at the next one!

Start time: 10:00AM
Entry Limit: 74 So sign up now!
We aren't doing waitlists anymore. Coordinating them was eating into our bike riding and bubbly beverage recovery time so we got our priorities straight. You should too, and sign up before the last minute. When it's full, it's full.
Rules: Sign in before the race and sign out when you finish. Make sure to sign out! If you don't sign out, you will be subject to the ultimate punishment. We don't know what that is yet and we don't want to find out, so just sign out. When you sign in we'll give you the run down of using the Time Machine to get your finish time to log on the sign out sheet. Roads will be open to traffic and trails will have other users on them. Any vehicle on the course is not expecting to encounter a bike race on these roads, so please stay to the right hand side of the road. Don't ride like an idiot. Be nice to other people. Ride within your abilities. You are responsible for your own safety, navigating the course, and addressing any mechanicals that may arise. You will need a gps device and the gps file. Last and most important have fun.
Details: Back again for 2024! This is one of our favorites. Three distance options each filled with beautiful forest, twisty roads, and epic views. We tweaked the routes a bit from previous years so make sure to get the new files. We don't believe in waking up before 6AM and even waking up that early is a struggle, so we'll start the races at 10AM to allow you to wake up at a reasonable hour and drive out the morning of the race.
We're riding Saturday and and planning to camp Saturday night. There are a lot of dispersed camping spots close to the start/finish area so if you like camping, come join us. If you can carpool, you should. We are planning to waive the race entry fee for everyone that carpools. Bargain city! We've got a good camp spot in mind on FR69 (huh huh, huh huh, hey Beavis they start their race on FR69, coool) but if that one is taken we won't be far away. Look for the van with the graffiti banner and it's probably us.
Course Description: It's gonna be badass. We really like these loops and are pretty sure you will too. There aren't any gas stations or convenience stores on the route so plan accordingly. If you bring a water filter there are a few streams to filter water from. The best place to filter is near mile 8 on long loop. You can't miss it. The route goes right over the river. Heck, a few years ago the Gravel Goddess was so excited to see the river she jumped in from the bridge. No joke! She survived and finished the race. We're betting the long course takes around 3-5 hours to complete so you'll probably be alright without packing a water filter. Roads are all fairly good gravel roads and some short stretches of pavement. 40c gravel tires will be perfect.
If you have questions, shoot us an email at [email protected].
See you dudes and dudettes there.
